Safety & Verification
We would rather explain exactly how verification works than make broad trust claims.
What a verified badge means
It means a member of the GotYaTrade team has reviewed documentation submitted by that business — for example public liability insurance, trade qualifications, accreditations, company registration or a Gas Safe number — and approved it.
It is not an endorsement of workmanship, a guarantee, a warranty, or a substitute for your own checks. Entering a credential into a profile never marks a business as verified on its own.
Verification states
- Not submitted
- The business has not yet sent us any trust information.
- Pending review
- Information has been submitted and is waiting for a GotYaTrade admin.
- Verified
- Our team has reviewed the submitted documents and approved the business.
- More information required
- We need something further before we can make a decision.
- Rejected
- We could not verify the information provided.
- Suspended
- The business is temporarily unable to receive work through GotYaTrade.
Sensible checks before work starts
- Ask to see current public liability insurance and relevant qualifications.
- For gas work, check the engineer's Gas Safe registration on the official Gas Safe Register. For notifiable electrical work, check their competent person scheme.
- Get the quote and the scope of work in writing before anyone starts.
- Be cautious about large upfront payments and pressure to decide quickly.
- Keep conversations and agreements documented.
